A funny thing happened on the way to the Hoover Fire, near Morgan Hill/Gilroy! We were driving through Petaluma at 5:30 am, when we were rear-ended by a car coming out of an onramp. It hit the very back right corner of our personal 5th wheel & didn't cause much damage. BUT, it started a large chain reaction behind us! The Taglio's braked to avoid a piece of bumper by the car which had driven into us & to avoid hitting her - Dave Thomen who was behind the Taglio's braked to avoid hitting them and was rear-ended by a beer truck! It ruined the back wall of the Silvertip business trailer!!!! And, last but not least, Dave Edgar who was next in line rear-ended the beer truck causing major damage to his personal Dodge pickup! We were able to 'patch it up' and get back on our way to the fire and run a very safe and efficient helibase. Marty, his two sons, Marty Jr. and Andy, Kyle Pinson, Dave Thomen, Terry Pittman, Fred Imhoff and Dave Edgar have been working hard to repair the damages and the 'old girl' is just about done - today, August 12, should be the final day to complete the work. We're just thankful no one was injured in the accident!!! Let's be careful out there!!!
